Have a nice weekend

What's up guys?
Here, everything the same, except I found a job. Finally. I was looking for one for a while now, as I was feeling guilty seeing off R every morning as he was heading out the door and then colapsing back to bed for some reading, movie watching at 11 am, Seinfeld episodes and preparing warm lunch for myself everyday. Now it's all fixed. I wake up at 6, as I need to be there by 8, eat very little at work, and no more me time alone at home, no more blogging and reading as I wish. Now I get home so tired a 5, I don't even want to cook, let alone blog.
Hey, I'm living the dream, right? The 9 to 5 life. But I have to start at some point.
oh, the job is as a dress maker/ tailor, whatever you wanna call it. I'm learning valuable stuff for my dissertation process.
What am I doing this weekend? Nothing, really. Oh! Chinese at Palas, definitely, cause I don't have enough money to pay the rent, so I'll just go splurge all the way. Then, I don't know, we'll see. Maybe see my friends. If they want me.
Have a great one.

planties

 Just a quick and small update on my plants.
 I guess they're doing fine, as far as I can see, even with the limited amount of light they get. It's probably the heat that keeps them going, and the water, of course.

 {three bits of ranunculus + little basil on it's own, to get it multiplied}

 {mint - to be multiplied}

 {forming little teensy roots}

 {basil - scarce but strong}

 {soon to be arugula - taking her time}

{starts of coriander}

Yes, my basil is so scant and it's because I moved it from one pot to another and some got broken, others just dried out...that's why I try to grow more from a single stem with grown leaves. You probably know it already: if you cut a stem and place it in water, and take care of it, it eventually grows little roots that make it easy for it to be fed by the soil when planted. It's like a bridge between the cut stem and the soil. So it can be multiplied. I find that amazing.

...and my 100 post is about a tea/coffee cup

I found him all by himself, no set he belonged to and I took it. He is pretty and delicate and white and precious. I love him. I use it at least twice a day.

Lazy hazy summer days

I had the most wonderful two days in the kitchen. I'm a freak, I know. Part of it is because we moved a bit around here, in the area near the window and it's somehow more pleasant, plus I got, FINALLY, I got my shelve up on the wall and I have my pretty kitchen ware to watch now.
I've also been listening to Spilled Milk Podcast while washing endless amounts of dishes, waiting for something to bake/cook. It's just basically Molly from Orangette and this other guy I don't know and they talk for roughly 20 minutes about food and taste and give thoughts and recall childhood memories. It's OK, for listening while cooking/baking.
Plus listening to this

I bought the loveliest coffee/tea cup I want to share with you all. Again, all about kitchenware.

We have nothing to eat in the fridge besides pickles, milk, coffee, beer and yogurt and some stuff in the freezer, but we now have THE sour cherry slab pie I just baked a couple of hours ago. It's this recipe and I haven't been so excited about a recipe in such a long time, and this made me very excited. The fact that mine looks (always the case) less prettier than her's, is less important. What matters is the taste.
I went full on with the sugar, at 1 and 1/4 cup and I didn't use any confectioner's glaze and it turned out tart and sweet and the dough, oh the dough/crust!; if you follow her instructions on the flaky buttery dough she points to, you will have perfection. I simply love it and would advise anyone to give it a go, although it may sound a bit daunting because of the dough making process. But still, even if you go wrong, you can still eat it in the end. I would.

 {veggies - prepared}

 {pickled veggies}

 {most delicious combination - garlic/ginger/onion}

 {lidl eats in the house - again}

 {pan fried}

 {cranberry oatmeal muffins - adapted from here}

 {THE sour cherry slab pie mentioned way above - *right now it's gone/finished}

Sunday afternoon I persuaded R to come with me to see this lake I had heard of but never seen. It was nice, we were on our bikes and the wind made the trip bearable. There were several people and as we headed towards Ciric there were lots more. Overcrowded really. People are sunbathing there and hanging around the pool and they made me dream of our trip this year at the seaside. It's in a month and I can't wait to get on that train.

This week

 Bowling! Follwed by some ping pong, air hokey and a couple more games there. We wanted to do this for so long, and then all of a sudden, we met up and had a nice evening together. It was fun, but short.

BA/MA Degrees presentations!
I'm not here to comment on the presentations and how everybody did,or their ideas or any of it. I know how hard it is to be in their position, how nerve-racking and difficult, plus you can't be able to come up with the very best collection after just three years of school. Some aspects you get, some slip past you. It can't be perfect and you can't be hard on yourself.
I just have to say that the BAs collections were better than the ones at dissertation. More abundant, interesting, wearable. They really were.

MA dissertations. Just one- of the three was a tad more interesting, and they all weren't even that good. Her's is below, the others I didn't even bother with.
